eek: the Japanese had hundreds if not thousands of kamikaze pilots, a lot of them quite successful in hitting targers - they still lost. It is a facet of the war, true, but one happened and probably more are. Okay, thanks, but it changes nothing.

You recall the facts, eek, but if the US had not nuked them, which again starts another whole debate that I'm not interested in concerning the morality of the nuking, then the estimates are that far more Japanese (including civilians, killed by non-precise bombings) and a hell of a lot of Allied troops would have been wounded or killed taking the Japanese mainland - but make no mistake about it, the Allies would have won regardless, just at more cost to us AND them.

No one I've ever heard, until now, has ever suggested the kamikazes were a primary reason for the nuking.
